Diagonally arranged pieces of wood with a square frame, also known as parquet de Versailles, were first used in 1684 and replaced the marble floor in the French palace – the marble required constant cleaning, thus damaging the beams underneath, which served as a foundation. The advantages of modern wood cladding are numerous and constantly growing, meeting not only the high demands of customers, but also the standards of environmental protection and human health.

The massive parquet has a standard thickness of 1.5 cm, which allows it to be cycled repeatedly. The main materials, contrasting in color and surface, oak, beech, walnut, cherry, linden, pine (cham), sycamore, maple and other more expensive tropical species such as richly colored mahogany have a natural look and give the home a natural look and unique comfort . Although not technically wood, bamboo is also popular for flooring. Solid parquet is perfect insulation, stands the test of time, is easy to clean, and its beauty is inimitable.

Veneered parquet (a layer of solid wood about 5 mm thick, attached to a base of cheap wood or plywood) allows the floor to be cycled and varnished with conventional methods, and if necessary, repaired with a light second cycle.

The multi-layered construction of the parquet avoids the typical warping and deformation of the classic parquet. The base, usually of poplar or birch, has 2 layers of cross grain of the wood and thus when the top layer moves in one direction, caused by moisture for example, due to the perpendicular orientation of the fibers of the base, it moves in the opposite direction and keeps maximum product stability. Multi-layer parquet is suitable for both home and public buildings. The lamellas are long, sufficiently resistant to deformations and environmental influences, industrially varnished with ecological ingredients, precisely processed with an accuracy of 1 micrometer.

The cheapest form, laminate, is a chipboard base, a photo imitation wood and a clear protective varnish on top. Laminates are prone to scratches and injuries and cannot be polished, but they are extremely durable, heat resistant, hygienic and stain resistant, easy to clean and install. The choice of colors and patterns is huge, and the prices are more than affordable.

Exotic species such as iroko, merbo, apa, duce, teak, formosia, olim are more and more fashionable. New and interesting wood species for our market, many of which are suitable for outdoor laying, with characteristics superior to classic woods, with larger dimensions up to 1.20 m. African wood ranges from the lightest to the darkest tones, which further contributes to the interest in it. In many cases, exotic wood species are used to make original figured parquets or the so-called art parquet, which impresses with the beauty and imagination with which it was created.
