Colors mainly determine the mood of your interior. It is important to choose the right combination. Colors, light and space influence each other, to a great extent. The colors of the laminate, ceiling and walls have a significant optical impact on the way we perceive the room. You can make a room appear bigger, smaller, wider, narrower, deeper, taller, brighter, and warmer.

What colors of laminate flooring to choose?

You choose a certain laminate not only for practical reasons (class of wear resistance, thickness), but also because you like a certain color. When choosing the color of the laminate flooring, you should take into account the desired final result of the interior. Each room is different and requires a specific approach.

Light or dark laminate?

Light colors make the room appear larger, while dark colors make it seem smaller.

Light laminates reflect light, this will make the room brighter and make it look bigger. Pale colors are associated with purity and tranquility. Dark furniture and light wooden decors combine very well and create a cozy atmosphere.

Dark laminates are ideal for creating contrast. They are combined with walls in light colors, or with another dark color that is used as an accent. Avoid stark white walls, opt for one of the shades of white instead. You can brighten it up by adding colorful accessories to the interior. Too many dark colors create a gloomy setting, with less light and a lack of atmosphere.

The color of the skirting boards is also important. Skirting boards in the same color as the laminate make the floor look bigger and conversely skirting boards in the wall color make the floor look smaller.

Matching the color of the furniture and the laminate.

Make sure that the color of the laminate flooring you choose is at least a few tones lighter or much darker than the color of the furniture. If your laminate and furniture are in the same color, it is recommended to have a carpet in another contrasting color.

If you have chosen laminate flooring with a neutral color such as natural oak, do not be afraid to combine it with furniture made of dark wood such as walnut or wenge.

What moods does the color of laminate flooring create?

Floor with yellowish-beige color: these are warm colors, cozy and create a feeling of optimism. Laminates with oak, beech or maple decors can turn a dark room into a warm one.

Laminate parquet with a reddish-orange color creates very warm feelings, often combined with yellow accents.

Laminates with brown give a more earthy look to the room. Brown is not a bad color, it is universal and suitable for different interiors, provided that enough light enters the room.
